What mac to get?

Hi

I currently have a Mac mini but am looking at getting a 13" MacBook Pro. I will mainly use the MacBook Pro for Djing serato and also photography, I currently use iphoto but May get a proper photo edit software in the future.

The options are

Refurb - 2.4ghz i5, 8gb ram, 256 ssd and intel iris £1059

New - same as above but has 256 ssd pcie £1249

For the refurb I would prob get applecare which bring the price in at £1259. The new one comes with 3 year john Lewis warranty included and it a slightly newer model.

I know the hard drive is half of what my current Mac mini is, however, I just bought a wd ultra external hard drive.

Of course there is the age old question should I wait for the new one, for my needs though will any updates make a huge difference?

Would appreciate any advice also I understand that the applecare would be a better option than the JL warranty but I get the new pcie drive.
