Hi, sorry to hijack the post, but I am not from US (Mexico) and would like to know if I can take my iPhone to a US service shop, can I still apply for an out of warranty replacement iPhone?
The screen is also smashed, and the phone was bought in December.

If the phone was bought in US, it must be serviced or replaced in US. If bought in Mexico, it must be serviced or replaced in Mexico. There is no universal international warranty. Depending on how badly damaged the phone is, you may qualify for an out-of-warranty replacement, which is $269 in the US. I don't know how much in Mexico.
Apple does not do screen repairs for the 5S, only the 5 and 5C. You would have to pay $279 for an out of warranty replacement iPhone.
