~/Library/Application Support/ folder sometimes somehow is reset

My macbook pro encounters this issue for at least 5 or 6 times. It is really frustrating!

And I don't believe it's only me who have this issue, I happened to see some weird license auto-deactavite issues or strange file removals being proposed, e.g., Alfred 2’s license, Chrome’s extensions, Steam apps, etc. Unfortunately, I can't find any solution up to now.

I have encountered two times in one day. It usually happens after uninstalling some apps from Applications folders. I didnot realize it until when I called up Alfred window to execute some of my workflows, and I got nothing.

Other omens:

Chrome extensions are all removed, chrome profile is deleted.

most apps' licenses are removed

all extensions in popclip are deleted.

.... a lot more

and Steam apps are all deleted

In all, my ~/library/application support/ folder has been reset. (see attached capture)

Any help is appreciated!

Hi buddy,

I reformated my HDD and recovered the whole new system from online or USB drive bootup.

*ATTENTION:

Make a TM backup, Just in case you wanna fetch any file on the old system.

However, don't recover the OSX system using the backup.

Up to now, the problem hasn't emerged. So I assume it has been fixed, as to the reason, no idea.

Up to now, no problem at all.

I suspect some system files corrupt. For those suffering this odd issue, only one suggestion:

1. Make a full new Time Machine backup including everything.

2. Erase everything on your HDD or SSD

3. Do an online full restore or USB bootable installing drive if you have poor internet (http://www.macworld.com/article/2056561/how-to-make-a-bootable-mavericks-install -drive.html)
