I havent updated my ipad in awhile and did so last night but it only updated 5.1.1 and says its up to date how can I update it to 7.1
I need to update my software but it says its up to date.

If it's a first gen iPad (i.e. the only one without cameras) then it only supports up to iOS 5.1.1 - it doesn't have the processor or RAM to cope with iOS 6+
