I see dictation in the IPhoto menu. Does this mean I can do slideshow narration? ( I also have Aperture and would be willing to get iPhoto 11 to have this capability)

What version of iPhoto are you using? Post a screenshot of the menu where you see dictation. That's the first time I've heard of that.

I'm running 9.5.1. Tried a screen shot, but no luck with pull down menu. So here is the english version -
Under the iPhoto Edit pulldown under show clipboard I find Start Dictation. Hope this helps. Thanks for your response.
That's a function of the Dictation and Speech system preferences. It's in every edit menu in the OS if you have that enabled. It's greyed out as it's not available in iPhoto. iPhoto has no sound recording ability. You may be able to make a slideshow and narrate it in iMovie
That will let you dicate to the clipboard - it is not a voice resorder for slide shows - it is dictation to add text the clipboard - it is n unique to iPhoto but is a system feature - look in the edit menu in Safari and other progams

Thanks all, I get it, no narration in iPhoto. Some time ago I tried iMovie, Keynote and GarageBand to the point of frustration. I was hoping for something integrated and simple. A good friend has such a program in the PC domain. Is there anything reasonably priced in the MAC world? Thanks again for all of the responses.
