I need to update to iOS 6 but my Ipad says I am update to iO5 and no updates are available.

I need to update to iOS 6 to download a specific app I want, but my Ipad says I am updated to iO5 and no updates are available. How do I get the iOS 6?

The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1.

Sadly, you can't. Your iPad is obsolete and if you want modern apps you're gonna have to buy a whole new one. You might want to prepare to do this every couple years or go with another product like the Samsung tablet or the Surface.
