Mac Pro Late 2013 and Samsung 4k monitor problem

I have the new Samsung 28" 4k screen (U28D590D) and it has tearing along the right edge when used with displayport. Any way to fix that? I tried different cables (all DisplayPort 1.2 complient) to be sure and have narrowed the issue to the Mac Pro. The HDMI works fine tho only @30hz so is a bit laggy in normal interaction. There is no way to turn on Multi-stream as indicated and I hope it isnt that this screen will never work.

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), Dual Fire Pro D700

ttppee, you are absolutely right up till OS X 10.9.2 but 10.9.3 beta has already enabled support of 4k/60Hz using display port on macbook pro late 2013. Yet my concern is whehther the Samsung 4K monitor will have the similar problem as Mac pro. I guess one difference on Samsung is that this is the first monitor not requires MultiStream Transport (MST) as this monitor can support Single Stream 60Hz 4k which is pretty amazing.

Looks like the Mac Pro problem is specific to the AMD Firepro video card driver instead of overall OS X 10.9.3 compatibity of Samsung or probably any monitor that support DisplayPort's Single-Stream Transport (SST)

ttppee, you are the first person that I know go the Asus PB287Q! Any first impression on PB287Q compare to samsung other than Mac pro compatibility issue at 4K 60Hz? I believe they use the same panel and use SST instead of MST which suppose to be better but seems causing compatibility issues.

Since I have read so many potential problems on Samsung, I might just buy a Dell UP2414Q. It's smaller and more expensive. But it's using IPS panel and seems to have better compatibility on both windows and mac. And with 10.9.3, it's like using a 24 inch retina display at 4x the sharpness compare to 1080p monitor. And still less than $1000 (on sales) unlike the 32inch 4k monitor from dell and asus which cost $3000.

This Asus monitor is using the same kind TN panel as Samsung and price is about same as well , Asus outlook may not as fashinable as Samsung but it had more features such as low blue light, flicker-free, p-in-p, p-by-p and the swivel. pivot height adjustment etc..... My personal opinion this is a good monitor, The TN panel they use is not the cheap panel, because the the picture qulity and color are not bad, except had the same tearing problem not fully compatiable with Mac Pro 2013, Since I already try two different 4K/60Hz monitors from diffrent maker (not OEM) I think Apple should be response to fix this problem for us!

Unfortunately final 10.9.3 does not fix the issue with my dual D700 mac pro connected to my Asus PB287q :-(

Only 56Hz refresh rate reported (with dp1.2 enabled) and bad right hand edge of screen.

Only got mac pro today, and am very disspointed that my multi-thousand pount machine does not work with a basic 4K monitor.

My old Macbook Pro (early retina), work laptop and custom PC have no trouble with it at all.

Really disappointing.
