Iphone 5 refuses to charge

I have an Iphone 5, never really had a lot of issues with it. Today though it decides it doesn't like my apple charging cable saying that this device does not support apple products when its an apple cable. I tried plugging it in to my laptop and have used compressed air for my laptop usb ports and on my charging port thing on the phone. Ideas?
