Logic Pro can't find Guitar Rig 5

I just downloaded Guitar Rig 5 Pro, and I have activated it. But I can't seem to find it in Logic Pro. It's not under I/O and AU instruments. I have Kontakt 5 and Reaktor 5, but Guitar Rig is not there. Doesn't Guitar Rig have any library and sounds?

I only bought Guitar Rig to get different types of guitar sounds.

Guitar Rig is in the correct folder, named .components. When I try to rescan Guitar Rig is listed as Guitar Rig 5 FX and Guitar Rig 5 MFX. Still can't find Guitar Rig in Logic Pro.

I'm able to open Guitar Rig 5 as a stand alone, but not able to play any sounds. I don't play guitar, I only have a MIDI-keyboard.

Have Logic Pro 9.

If I may I ask... What did you think GR5 was and did?

If you want to emulate guitar playing via a keyboard then GR5 (Being a Guitar Amp simulator) is one of two essential parts to achieving this aim... The other part would be a guitar sound itself... and Logic Pro comes with several built in.

No.. GR5 is a Guitar Amp emulator... You can take an electric guitar instrument like those found in Logic Pro's instrument plugins.. and then put GR5 in an effect slot and select various different effect presets to create the sound of different guitar sounds.. like Heavy Metal or Blues guitars.. or emulations of sounds from famous guitar solos....

You still have to play your keyboard to 'play' the guitar but with careful practise you can get pretty authentic sounding guitars to add to your songs....

I made a quick demo a while ago using some of the guitar instrument presets in LPX along with the effects created in GR5

It should give you an idea of what is possible, if nothing else...

Yes....

You choose a guitar instrument in the instrument slot... to provide the basic sound of a guitar... like a Strat or a Les Paul..

...and then use GR5 in an FX Insert slot... to provide the effects.. like a guitarist would choose an Amp, Speakers and FX pedals... to go with his guitar...

With that combination you can get pretty much any guitar type sound you want and with a bit of practise you can plsy your keyboard and emulate the kind of guitar playing and guitar sound you want in your music..
