How do I stop picture import?

When I try to close iphoto it says it's importing pictures into the library. It isn't. Can't shut down or reboot! Help!

Hi goodapple,

Force Quit the app, press Option+Command+ESC and the Force Quit window will display. Click on the iPhoto app to quit.
