Can't login to iTunes

Just got Apple TV. Gradually getting there with it. Using iPad4 Retina & also New iPad mini. Problem is, can't seem to login in to iTunes. Message keeps coming back to RETRY later. Know that the ID & PWord is correct. Doing it with the TV REMOTE, can I use keyboard on iPad ?

2. Can't get all pictures to completely fill screen, don't think it's a aspect ratio problem. Pics taken on same camera at roughly same time. Some fill the screen but most do not.

Probably finger trouble but tips and hints would be appreciated.
