Icloud set up help...on windows 7 with older macs in house

Hello

Thanks for any help...I am trying to get my photos backed up to the cloud.

I hope I got this right

I went to sign up and it said I needed at least a windows PC or a mac that is a later version OS

than my 10.6.8 and 10.5.0

does this mean i can do the initial set up on my pc and then use it on my 10.5.O mac to upload my pictures to

the cloud...most my photos are on 10.5.0 mac mini...

OR do i have to have a different icloud account for mac and windows?

Thanks I am so confused as to how to save my photos before I get a new mac and time capsule...

i lost them all before and thankfully they were backed up to a drive...

I want to secure these photos the best way I can as so many loved ones have passed away...

Thanks...any help would be so appreciated...I don't mind paying for extra cloud storage if i know those

photos are safe...

and that I can set up on windows 7 and use it on my older macs
