What format is required for your paper by your University?

I should have been more specific -- I meant document format, like .doc or .pdf.
It would be a really bad idea to try to do a phd paper in the beta web app which is the subject of this forum.
Pages for OS X might be worth considering if the Uni required .pdf format, but in the case of .doc it would make no sense to use anything other than MS Word.
