Connect MacBook Pro (Mid 2009) HDD to PC

So my Mid 2009 MacBook Pro has a panic kernel/unmounted HDD, and I will have to reinstall OS in order to get everything up and running again. In order to preserve data, I want to backup my 500GB Hitachi TS5SAA500 hdd*. I have already removed the HDD from my macbook pro, and am writing this on my PC (64gb Windows 7). There is a program called HFSExplorer, which will read the HDD once I can get it connected, and I can move some data to a free HD on my PC, and then flash my mac and put the precious data back on.

My question is, how should I go about hooking up this HDD to my PC? There does not appear to be a USB port on the HDD, but I could open up my PC and disconnect one of my 3 HDDs, and plug this one in its place. Would this be viable?

* - Note this is the stock HDD which came with the Mid 2009 MacBook Pro

Thanks for the help!
