My ipod touch 5th generation hasn't been able to connect to my wifi all day, and all of our computers and our tv are still able to. I tried resetting the device, and my router. I turned it on and off again, and I reset the network settings. Help!

Really need help figuring this out without having to completely reset my ipod to factory settings. Thanks!

Hey Lauren, have you tried Forget this Network? It will remove the network from your iPod, after it is erased set it up as if it is a first time set up with your router. If that doesn't work then I would try Restoring the iPod to New. If still no joy after a full restore connect your Apple store and have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

If not this:

iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:

Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON

Power down and wait 5-10 minutes

Power up

Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Then

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indiacte a problem with your network.

Does the iOS device see the network?

Any error messages?

Do other devices now connect?

Did the iOS device connect before?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on your router

.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Hey Lauren, Your right restoring to new will reset everything back to factory specs, so everything you put on the iPod will be removed, wiped. That's why you make back up copies of your "stuff" (music, photos, contact lists, etc. anything you wish to keep) to your computer first. After the restore is finished you add all the "stuff" back on to your iPod. Illaass has posted several links, things to try-- maybe something you haven't tried. (I tend to post what worked for me personally or something friends have done with success, doesn't mean it's the only way, just what worked for me. Illaass' knowledge is far greater). If none of the above work do the Restore to New, it's a pain, take's time, but if it works, it works! Good luck, Cheers.
