How to correct layout of videos saved to/viewed on my PC?

I have an iPHONE 5C and an HP laptop PC (Windows 7 OS). When I copy (backup) my videos onto my PC from my iPHONE 5c, they all display/play in a ROTATED way, NOT in the way/layout that I recorded them! My videos were all recorded using my iPHONE, stored in my camera roll, and then copied to my HP laptop.

I have no problems in rotate photos (e.g., since they're .jpeg files, very easy to do). But not with videos.

Any tips? Apps? Software?

Use Windows Movie Maker to rotate the videos. When finished, use the Save for Computer option to save a new copy of the video.

Thank you; I discovered my Windows Movie Maker by sheer accident and was thus able to save my videos onto my laptop hard drive as a backup measure, both in their original *.mov format and also the (saved) *.wmv format.
