why airport express disconnects when apple tv is plugged in

I set up fine the airport express as a re-transmitter of my airport extreme. It works fine, green lite and internet ok.

Now I want to connect an apple tv so I can send video to my smart TV.

But when I plug in the apple tv, the airport express disconnects from the internet and gets a blinking yellow light.
