How do I use the find my iPhone app if I lost my phone?

Ugh! Lost my phone yesterday and I've been trying to figure out how to use the find my iPhone app.

I found out I would have to contact Apple in order for them to track it. I've been trying to reach them and scheduling appointments but I haven't had any luck.

Please help!
