Q: After I upgraded to 10.2.9 my Safari and my Preview aren't working

I have upgraded to 10.2.9 and now my Safari, my Preview and iBooks have a big white cross on them and I can't use them.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Most likely, you made copies of those apps, and the copies are now outdated and won't work. Delete them and use the ones in the Applications folder.

Whew, glad to hear you have 10.9!
(your post hasn't shown up yet, but I saw it under your profile . . .

So, have you tried opening Safari directly from your Applications folder, instead of the dock?

Right-click the Safari icon in the Dock and select

Options ▹ Show in Finder

from the popup menu. The Applications folder should open with the app selected. Open the Info window. What is the Version?

Yes I have but it has a circle on top of it with a line through it so it won't open.
