Can I use a 1330 RAM on a Mid 2012 MBP 13 that has a 1600 memory slot?

Can I use a 1330 RAM on a Mid 2012 MBP that has a 1600 memory slot?

My MBP Mid 2012 currently has a 2 GB RAM (1600). I will have a 4GB RAM of (2GB x2, 1333) soon and I was planning to use these. It is basically a downgrade in terms of speed but an upgrade in memory size.

Will this work? would it damage my terminal? Has anyone tried this before?

Can anyone help please.

Thanks in advance.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), RAM

No.

I don't know. I have installed faster speed RAM in a MBP rated for slower RAM which then was down clocked.

In general, I agree with Mende1's advice. Your interests will be better serve with the RAM that Apple specifies.
