Network Activity icon always spinning on the homepage

Since upgrading to iOS 7.1, I've noticed I get the Network Activity Icon on my homepage a lot. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm on WiFi or 3G. The Network Activity Icon disappears when I open an App, but comes back when I'm in the homepage. Anyone know what this activity is from? I never had this issue before. I also checked the location settings in privacy and it doesn't seem to be related.
