Does AP sync with camera brand

I know that the camera name and model appers in the Info and Adjustment panes in the Inspector.


But does the program automatically compensate for the camera specifications/parameters built in by the Nikon company?

Aperture 3, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), running an iMac

Are you shooting RAW or JPEG?

  • If you are importing JPEGs, all camera specific parameters will be already included in te JPEG, when the camera developes the RAW image.
  • If you are importing RAW file into Aperture, then Aperture will use a camera specific raw support to develope the file, but certain settings will not be used, e.g. Canon's Highlight Tone Priority and Nikon's Active D-Lighting, see Keith Barkley's user tip:
