We finally got the pc to recognize the ipod after restarting the service and it will let us sync but it's puttting the songs she has on her ipod to my computer. We just want to add one simple song ..why is this so difficult? It took me an hour to get to this point.

plug your ipod into your computer, and your itunes should pop up! You can go to music, and select all the music you want and download it onto your ipod. just press sync and it should work!
suppose itunes does not recognize my iPad. when it opens? its hooked up by usb and windows vista recognizes it

The new 6G iPod touch with iOS 8.4 requires iTunes 12.2 or later. 12.2 requires Win 7 or later.
