Q: External monitor for g5?

I have a 2009 desktop mac with a broken monitor. I was wondering if there is any way to use a old g5 computer as an external monitor?

Hi, is it an iMac?

I don't know how you'd go about setting it up if you didn't have Screen Sharing already seup, but one possibility...

So I downloaded the software on the g5 but what cables do I need?

Or perhaps I could connect my newer desktop to my TV through Apple TV or hdmi cable? And then I could enable screen sharing from there...

Only chance I see is using a Firewire cable & booting the iMac in Target mode...

But it isn't going to be easy, we'd have to manuallt edit some plist files on iMac, that in FWTDM will look like an exteral drive, but I'm ame if you can get rhe right FW cable & the iMac oots into T mode.
