Problem with Resetting Safari

So whether I am on a PC or Mac, I will always end my browsing experience by "clearing all" (cookies, history, etc.) and so on a mac, I click "reset" for safari.

I recently got my macbook air back from repairs @ the Apple store/depot for water damage. Everything is in perfect working order (since they replaced nearly every single part). Also, I only bought the macbook air in August 2013 so it's still relatively new.

However, 50% of the time now (or maybe more) when I reset Safari, the application freezes and I have to force quit it. This only started happening ever since I got back my macbook back from Apple's repairs. While this isn't really much more than an annoyance, I fear that something may genuinely be wrong with my computer.

Why is this happening?!

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Delete safari .plist file.

Quit all applications. Click on an empty spot on the desktop to activate Finder.

Hold the “Option” key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Select “Library” from the drop down.

Library > Preferences > com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click it and select "Move to Trash". Close Finder window.

Restart. Launch Safari

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

View Show Log List

from the menu bar.

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
