Q: Importing from iPad3

is there a way to import iPad made videos to FCE?  I was unable to find a way using the easy set up to recognize the iPad.  Alternatively I suppose I can export and create movie files and then import from file to FCE.

27inch iMac i7; core-duo imac 17 and Cube-500, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 8GB on 27" 2GB on 17"

iTunes can import then use a third party app to transcode the files to an FCE friendly one.

Look at the specs of the FCE Easy Setups and use one of them as the target format, closest is best.

Streamclip is free and will do the job for you.

thanks, I decided to import to iPhoto and then export to the desktop to get a .mov (QT file).   Then I imported the file to FCX.  The easy setup is DV-NTSC.    Worked well but for one glitch.  It's upside down and plays upside down.  QT plays right side as does iPhoto.  So I missed something and I hope you or someone has the answer to get rightside up.  Thanks
