Question

Flashing Power Light

My white power light won't stop flashing and my computer doesn't boot up. Is my RAM bad? I used comressed air to clean alll the dust but I still get the same results, flashing white light. Do I need to replace all my RAM?

I forget the specs on my tower but I know it is the first one with INTEL inside, DUAL QUAD, 4TB, I think OS 10.6, maybe 8GB of RAM I think I added 6 GB of RAM 5 years ago.

I'm desparate, I have a lot of projects on this computer and deadlines to meet:) Can anyone help?

Check out this Apple Support document for what the blinking light means. And this is a discussion dealing with what to do about it.

Since it sounds like you've got the original Mac Pro, this may be helpful too.

yeah, i have the first mac pro 🙂 I installed this new RAM one year after I had it and never had a problem until today. from the articles you sent me it seemed like these people had problems when they upgraded their RAM. Is it possible for RAM to simply get old and die? Maybe I should just upgrade all of my RAM?
