Where are my iCloud Documents?

I have done a little reading on this forumn and have read that when I save a documnet in , say, Text Edit onto iCloud, I can't access that document from anywhere on the web or from any iOS devices. Only from a Mac running Text Edit??

Please tell me I mis-read and that a sophisticated sytem from a world-class company wouldn't do something so silly?

Where do I find these documents on the web and iOS?
