Iphone 4S calendar entries have "disappeared".

My Settings - calendar - synch says All events, which I have read from other discussion questions

I back up my phone regularly but am worried in case I back up the blank over the stored data

Within the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom center of the screen. Tap on Show All Calendars.
