What is the model number of the "old" AirPort?
What is the model number of the "old" AirPort?
Air Port Express
I don't know the number... where can I see it?
Look on the side of the Express. The model is in the faint print....hard to see....you may need a magnifying glass.
It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers.
If you see A1084 or A1088, the Mavericks operating system that you are using on your Mac does not support these older versions of the AirPort Express.
Use another Mac running Leopard or Snow Leopard, or a PC to be able to administer the older Express.
If you see A1264, then Mavericks can be used to set up and configure the Express using AirPort Utility.
Thank you, I think my computer supports my Airport, but I don't know where to find the Air Port Utility!
Open.......Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utilty
The version of AirPort Utility packed in with the Mavericks operating system will work with AirPort Express models A1264 and A1392.
It will not work with A1084 and A1088.
