Should I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks?

Should I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks? I have an iMac and use Adobe Creative Cloud daily.

I am a graphic designer and use all of the adobe suite at work. I recently purchased a refurbished iMac that came with Snow Leopard. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade to Mavericks.

I run on 4GB of RAM and have a 640GB hard drive.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Your best option is to partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive to your Mac and install Mavericks there and then "dual-boot" into either Snow Leopard or Mavericks as needed.

Dual Boot = System Preferences -> Startup Disk.

This method will keep your Snow Leopard environment intact and allow you to experiment with Mavericks without the damage caused by installing Mavericks over Snow Leopard.
