Spotlights at the bottom of MacBook Pro Display

User uploaded file

Spotlights appearing at the bottom of the screen. Screen dimming a lot.

(In fact its doing it right now as I write this).

I cant be on the Macbook for more then 10 minutes without it diming and this weird effect appearing at the bottom of the screen.

Totally unacceptable considering the thing is less then 2 weeks old.

I don't understand having read various articles and finding out that this has been going on since 2008 that it STILL hasnt been fixed.

I dont pay £1,250 for a notebook for one of its biggest features; the ultrabright, retina display to not be working.

Does anybody know what caused this random problem?

What can I do to fix it myself?

I dont really have time to hand it over to an apple specalist to look at for 7 days.

I think I want a refund.

It looks like the LED lights used to light up the display (the "backlighting") somehow got moved out of place and are lighting up the front of the display instead of the back, giving you that "spotlight effect".

If that that is the issue, you'd have to open up your Macbook, take out the display and remount the LEDs and display correctly.

Get a refund.
