I have a 27inch imac that has just developed the dreaded left hand side backlight failure. Has anyone yet managed to get this paid for by apple as it is clearly a manufacturing fault? I have only had this since January 2012

If you don't have AppleCare, you may be able to argue a recall type of issue with it, since it apparently is that common.
