iPhone 5c forgotten passcode- difficult circumstances?

Hello.

I just received my iPhone 5c today. I set up a passcode. I forgot the passcode instantly and didn't write it down.

I tried putting my iPhone into recovery mode, however it tells me that I need to put in my passcode which I do not remember.

I cannot use find my iPhone because I did not set up iCloud.

I am stuck in an indefinite loop of not being able to access my phone.

Do I run over it with a car and get a new one? Thanks.

It is is asking you to unlock the phone you did not follow the instructions 1,2,3,4 correctly.

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
  2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
  3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
  4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  5. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

What I'd like to know is, you're trying to conect to Nicole's iPhone, and yet your user name is Steph. Is this a 2nd hand device? If so, you'd have to get Nicole to put in the passcode and then delete her iCloud account from the device before you can set it up as your own. If you can't contact her, then is it iCloud blocked? Usually means its stolen if it is.
