Can't open Microsoft Powerpoint on iPad or iphone 5s with IOS 7.1. Other Microsoft files are okay, word, excel. Can anyone help?

Im having the exact same problem, Im in nursing school and I cant even download the powerpoints in class. They need to fix this STAT.

Finally I have found the true issue and fix. You need to "download the full message" rather than just downloading the attached file in the email.

I've explored a half dozen options including additional apps that are supposed to help overcome this issue - but none are solid and/or been disproved. The IOS email app doesn't do it, the ipad/iphone view doesn't get it done, the Quick Note doesn't work. Evernote uses the same viewer; and I tried Azul - both dead ends. Other than spending $40 for the Office for iPad app, I don't see an alternative.

Any guidance is much appreciated - other than converting them to PDF. My immediate concern is with PPTX files.

I had same issue - I don't think dropbox has integrated this option yet. You have to load the powerpoint file through itunes: Go to the ipad, click on apps, scroll down to filesharing, click on powerpoint, and hit add. Annoying? Yes - hopefully dropbox will add the "open in" option soon.

It seems to affect PPTX files sent from Exchange. I forwarded the files to my iCloud email and they opened in PPT iPad without a problem. An annoying workaround but at least it works.

The problem lays with Exchange. Saving files to SugarSync and then opening them works as well.

I brought a PowerPoint file into my iPad with DropBox. Can scroll through it (without audio) in DropBox App, but when I open PowerPoint iPad, file does not show up to click on.

Any ideas?
