Have to reboot IPad Air to get it to connect to WiFi

What is going on with this crappy IPad Air. So far I really hate it. To connect to WiFi I have to completely shut down the IPad Air and reboot before it will connect to WiFi. EVERY TIME! Otherwise WiFi keeps searching and spinning and never connects. Is someone working on some kind of fix for this?? I see that there are a ton of people that are having the same issues.

Unfortunately, I gave my IPad 4 away when I got the IPad Air. Worse decision ever.

Hello there,

It sounds like your iPad needs to be restarted whenever you wake it from sleep, to be able to connect to your home Wi-Fi. I would use these troubleshooting steps to resolve that issue from the following article:

iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

  1. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
  2. Tap User uploaded file and Forget this Network.
  3. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
  4. Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
  5. Update your device to the latest version of software.
  6. Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.

And this section from the bottom as well, if the ones above do not resolve it:

Unable to automatically connect to Wi-Fi

  • Avoid giving your Wi-Fi network a common name.
    • Some wireless routers are preconfigured with a common SSID (network name) such as "wireless" or "default."
    • If your desired Wi-Fi network has a common SSID, try changing the SSID to something unique2.
  • If your desired Wi-Fi network has a unique SSID, reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
    • previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    • recently used Bluetooth accessories
    • VPN and APN settings

Thanks for your response Sterling, but the problem is not on my end. I have an IPhone, a first gen IPad, 4th gen IPad, and this IPad Air as well as my husbands Iphone and his IPad Air. Everything connects with no problems except for the IPad Airs. You do see that there are hundreds or maybe even thousands of other users that are having this same issue? Just type "IPad air not connecting to wifi" into Google and see what you pull up. You guys do go online and actually read the comments right? The problem is with whatever you have changed in this crappy IPad Air from what is in the other IPads. Please stop blaming my router and maybe fix the problem with your product.

I, too, have lost my wi-fi connection on my iPad2 and I'm stumped as to why. I was using it this morning and after an hour or so, it lost the connection. My desltop and laptop are connecting fine. I tried those steps you listed for the OP, but to no avail. This happened only once before about a year ago. Same thing, connection lost. I plugged my iPad into my desktop and the connection kicked in. It was fine until today, except that when I plugged in my iPad to my computer I got this:

User uploaded file

that can't be a good sign because I'm not plugging in an iPhone, but an iPad. Any help would be appreciated.
