'Free Books' in the iBooks Store

I have a iTunes Connect Account and todate have published seven books at a range of prices.

It would appear that this account does not support the publication of books that you what to make 'Free'.

So I guess the question is do I have to set up another type of account in order to be able to publish books in the iBooks Store 'Free of Charge"?

If you are deliverying books to Apples iBooks store - either free or paid books, it is not now a requirement to have ISBN numbers. However, if you prefer to use an ISBN for a paid book, you can do.

If you are NOT uploading any books to the iBooks store, Apple allow by the terms and condition of use for iBooks Author, for books to be distributed free of charge as you choose.

You cannot use iBooks Author to create a book and sell it.

Apple allow "Agrigators" to be "employed" to create iBooks for those who cannot or do not want to be involved in the process other than selling. In which case, if you are making a book for a business, for their internal distribution, I cannot see Apple being concerned.

For "Friends and Family I use Dropbox to allow them to download the books and it offeres an option to open teh book in iBooks - which makes it easier for those not well practiced in iPads/iMacs etc,.

There are other "Cloud" type services such as Box etc,. Its a matter of choice really

No !

if you submit a Free book to the store.... its "public doamin" anybody can download it.

Apple do not have any filters to segregate readers.

If you client wants to distribute In-House to staff members, I suggest you or their IT mamanager opens a Free Dropbox account -- upload the exported XXXXXX.ibooks file to either the public folder or opena "client" folder and create a download link - which can be emailed to all staff. They also need to open a free Dropbox account for iPad and or Mac computers - then each can use the link to download the book. When downloaded to Dropbox, it can be opened into iBooks.

If your client have the own network server - the IT may be able to set up a download method.
