I went to apple store in Arden Arcade mall in Sacramento CA to get my battery replace. I talk to Susan the manager on site she told me that my battery is worn-out and they have to charge me 79 dollars, but i told her my phone still under warranty 04/14/14

Im not very please about my experience i have been apple customer for a long time i bought all the iphone that came-out. Two weeks ago i was with my friend in Emeryville CA apple store with my friend i had my phone check and his and they replace his battery for no charge and his warranty also expired for a week.i didnt do mine on that day because i didnt back my iphone 5. The question i want to ask is what is the hardware warranty for? This the serial number of my phone C38K4V3XDTTN iphone 5 Manager Susan in Arden Arcade Mall in Sacramento basically told me that its my fault that my battery is worned-out because she said the way i charge my phone or use it. And she made an analogy like a car battery "when car battery is worned-out u have to replace it and buy one" and i said oh your right but if it is under warranty they will replace it. It doesn't matter how u start ur car or use the battery of your car..after i said that they became quiet they said they still have to charge me eventhough my iphone 5 is still under warranty and their own analogy caught them up. What a joke..

You should discuss this situation with the store manager again. If your battery is failing, and you are still covered by the 1yr limited warranty, they should be able to replace the battery under warranty. If there is anything that you didn't mention (like your device has accidental damage), that would be different. But you should try to speak to the manager again, or contact Applecare and provide them with the information. AppleCare phone number: (800)-694-7466

My warranty will expire tomorrow. I waisted my time going there they pretend they were listening to me but they just want me to pay the replacement fee. So i ask them a question so basically said that the phone battery will not last that long not even a year of purchase? They said no "it depends how you use it" so where is the warranty taking place? And they also said that it has to be defective so thy can replace it. I replied yes my batter is defective. They said no. So just end up leaving because we were just going in circle. My phone looks brand new no ding or whatsoever. i guess their so called Warranty doesn't Exist.

Ok James Dionisio. Did they give you a case number when you first presented your phone, and they asked you to pay for the battery replacement? If they did, you have reported a problem. If your warranty was still in effect, you reported the problem in warranty, so if you present the information correctly, they MAY go ahead and replace the battery. But it depends on the actual date the warranty ran out, and whether or not your visit was documented in their systems. Persistance and Politeness are your friends.
