How can I trim the beginning of a clip?

Dear support community,

I am editing an iMovie project on my iPhone. Once a clip is on my timeline I can only trim the end of it. When I try to trim the beginning my finger always moves the timeline back and forth but the clip is not affected. I tried to touch the clip in every possible position but I did not succeed.

Any help is highly appreciated. Kind regards,

Christian

I got it now: It actually works. It only looks like I am moving the timeline. Actually, iMovie is trimming the clip. What confused was the different behaviour of the clip: When I trim the end, the timeline remains steady and I am moving the new end across the screen. When I trim the beginning, the timeline is moving under my finger and it looks like nothing is happening.
