Keep Having Connection Issues

I have a iPhone 5S, on 7.1. Here recently, I keep having issues with text messages not sending and some of my apps not updating, but if I turn airplane mode on and then back off, it seems to correct the issue for a little while.

Any thoughts? I'm considering backing up my phone and running a restore process.
