It sounds to me like you have a blank disk.

Lion was only available to buy on a USB Thumb Drive. You can still buy Lion from Apple, you just need to call them and purchase it over the phone, as per this http://www.tuaw.com/2013/01/24/mac-os-x-10-7-lion-is-still-available-for-purchas e-from-apple/

If you are looking for a way to "acquire" it, then the Apple Forums in not the place! Try Google.

My friend owns an electronic store where he works on a ton of miscallaneous devices. He had made me a disk last week with 10.7 on it. I put the disk in and it said I inserted a blank DVD. I told him what had happened ,so he made me another on a Mac because he thought he could of made it on another machine. He showed me Lion was on the second disk before taking it out and handing me the copy. I came home and the results were the same! Inserted a blank disk??? I was hoping you may have some insight on my misfortune. I'm not looking to "acquire" anything through these forums, perhaps a bit of knowledge on why the disk cannot be read.

As funny as it is, going to Lion via this way is illegal so I can't help you here. Going to Mavericks is legal so I can help you with that!

I'll be blunt Lion was a piece of unmentionables, Mavericks is a much better OS, in every shape and form. My wife has a MacBook Late '09 model and is fine with Mavericks, I have up'ed her RAM and added a Fusion Drive, and it does really well.

I really don't see you having any issues going to Mavericks, 10.6 is a really good OS, and in my opinion better than Lion... but Mavericks has been rock solid for me.

I guess your missing the problem?? I'm aware of how to put Mavericks on computer bud. The question was why wouldn't my drive read the disk ? Some of my programs and equipment are not with mavericks just yet. Thanks for the feedback. When you spend $6000 on production /studio gear and you need at least Lion to get them going its a bit of a headache! I would like to keep snow , it's tip!
