Hi,
I am using an American-bought macbook in Slovakia with only a plug adapter and it works great, voltage is fine, no problems.
As to the warranty, I recently had some e-mail correspondence concerning my inability to register my applecare agreement in Slovakia. Here, word for word, is what Apple said about the validity of AppleCare agreements worldwide. Pay particular attention to the last sentence, and see if you can decipher what it means!
_____________
Thank you for your email.

The AppleCare Protection Plan you purchased is valid in the United States and Canada.
It will be necessary for you to initially enroll the agreement using an address within the United States or Canada and then transfer the plan to your current address.
Before enrolling your agreement, please register your product at <http://register.apple.com>.
To transfer the plan to an address outside the United States and Canada, please take the following actions:

1. Make sure your new address is updated in our records by visiting <http://www.apple.com/contact/myinfo>. You will need to sign in using your Apple ID and password.

2. Write a letter to Apple that includes the plan's agreement number, the Apple product's serial number, and your name, address, telephone number, and email address. Also indicate your interest in permanently transferring the agreement to this new address.

3. Locate the AppleCare Protection Plan's proof of purchase, such as the sales receipt. You may either fax the letter and proof of purchase to 512-674-8125 or send a copy via postal mail to the following address:

AppleCare Protection Plan Administration
Apple Computer, Inc.
P.O. Box 149125
Austin, TX 78714-9125
U.S.
Please note, Apple offers warranty service worldwide, however service will be limited to the options available in the country from which service is requested.
Best regards,

So -- what do you all make of that? Do I get free care for my macbook here or not?
