Without wifi, podcasts are not available

Hi all,

My issue is that sometimes, when I don't have wifi access, some of my podcasts are not available and appear grayed out. My itouch has plenty of available space, so I would like my podcasts to just download (rather than being stored in the cloud as I suppose is the case now). Is there some setting that I need to change to make that happen? The various icloud, itunes and podcast settings are confusing.
