Logic Reading Audio Timecode

Hi Guys

I have a music Video project coming up where I need to create an audio file with timecode on one side and audio on the other.

I use a field recorder which creates the timecode for me and I import that into Logic as a mono audio file.

What I'd like to do is have Logic read and sync to that audio timecode file as Its playing back.

That way I'll see the readout on the Logic meters showing the same time code as the audio file and if I needed to drop something at a specific place

say 00:00:00:20

I can forward to that point on the timecode track and drop elements in from Logic.

Any help would be very appreciated

Thanks

Kevin

Kevin,

Logic can't sync to SMPTE from an audio file, you would need one of two things. An audio card/interface with a hardware SMPTE Input and software to convert the SMPTE code into MTC, (MIDI Time Code). Or a hardware box that converts SMPTE code into MTC. MTC is the MIDI equivalent of SMPTE.

You probably can find a plugin that reads and displays the SMPTE.

Ok, wait a minute, I may have found just the tool, check it out and see if it does what you need.
