How do I delete a printer that is incorrectly installed?

Something went wrong in the intallation of my HP wifi printer. I started over and it worked. However, the original attempt is still installed. This causes confusion to my iMac every time I try to print anything, even when I hard wire the computer and printer. How can I delete the old printer install that does not function?
