Can iCloud calendars be shared to Google Calendar?

I am looking for a way to sync iCloud with Google Calendar.

There used to be a feature in an older revision of OSX where you could sync your iCal calendars to Google. This would essentially import to google and copy back to iCal. The end result was that the two calendars had reasonable duplicates of each other's data. You could use iCal and (what would become) iCloud's calendars as the master. This is what I want to replicate.

I have been using iCloud for quite some time, and I like the interface and features quite a lot. I don't want to use Google as the master, and I don't want to simply view the Google calendars in the OSX Calendar. I want to have Google reflect all of the records in the iCloud calendar in such a way that I can easily turn it off and step away from Google in one stroke.

Is this possible without resorting to a 3rd party tool?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2009), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
