Was I wrong in thinking I could display my Lightroom slideshow From my Mac Pro on TV using Apple TV

I only got the Apple TV so I could show a slide show from Lightroom to my friends. It is on my Mac Pro not my iPad and is too big for my iPad. What do I do?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.5), only way to internet is wireless

If you intend to mirror your Mac Pro it would need to be the newest model, released late 2013. If you have another Mac that is from 2011 or later that would work. It would also need to be running OSX 10.8 or later
