Kindle eBooks into iBooks?

How are Kindle ebooks handled on Mavericks 10.9.2?

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), eBook compatibility?

It would appear that the only way to read Kindle ebooks is by downloading the Kindle App and downloading your library to this onscreen reader.

I have done this and it works properly. But, apparently Amazon Kindle books are not compatible with iBooks.

Correct. Kindle books are Amazon books and have to be read in the Amazon app. iBooks are Apple books and have to be read in the iBooks app. Has to do with Digital Rights Management.
