Airport Extreme Port Forwarding Issue, please help!

I am working with several IP cameras in my house. In order to view the video from outside of the network, I have set the port forwarding for each camera. The ports are all opened and tested by tool. The problem comes here, I can access my camera through Firefox or IE outside of my house network, but I can't make it through my iphone apps!

More wierdly, iphone apps used to work one week ago, but suddenly not working outside of the network after I added more ports forwarding last weekend.

Is there anything block the connection with mobile device and the ports that are forwarded? That's so strange to me, because web browsers do have the access to my camera from other network.(which means the ports are open!)

Any helps will be highly appreciated, thank you!

Some ISP and phone companies are trying to save money and using private IP addresses for phones.

Please tell me if your phone is getting a public IP address or private IP.

Also how are you locking the public IP of your router.. does your ISP give you a static public IP or are you using a dynamic dns service??

Thank you for your reply! My iphone is getting public ip from carrier, but sometimes I connect to other wireless network then I have a private ip. My router assigned a public ip by ISP I think.

My question here is I can access the ports succesfully from my desktop at work place. But not my cell phone. My understanding is this doesn't make sense, because unless my router has incoming filtering it can't block only mobile devices while keeping all browsers working (I also tried my friends cell phone, not working).

Going on your first post, you might have used a port that the app required.

Start over.

One of those ports you used was needed by the App and cannot be forwarded.

Simply go back to how you originally had it.. or even factory reset the Extreme and then open ports one by one..

Test using the app in phone connected to your 3G service each time you open a port. If it fails you have used the wrong port.
