MacBook not charging

Hi... So I was using my mac to record and used up all the battery that was left on it. When I went to go plug it in, it wouldn't charge. No green light came on. So I tried my alternate battery which is dead as well to see if the battery was just done, and the same thing happened. So I'm getting fairly frustrated, because this would be the fourth time my mac has gone in for repairs in the past 6 months, and I really don't want to do that. Any suggestions would help me and save me money I don't have! Thanks!
